ILO and FAO collaborate on decent work

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the ILO have launched a joint website on ‘Food, Agriculture & Decent Work’. It is the first joint FAO – ILO website and one of the few examples of an internet resource jointly managed by two UN partner organizations. The advent of a joint website follows a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations signed in 2004.

The site intends to give visibility to FAO-ILO’s collaboration, highlighting the linkages between employment, rural development and food security, and focusing primarily on areas of current joint work – including decent work, children and youth employment, sustainable livelihoods, producers’ organisations and labour statistics. The website will be used to share relevant information and to encourage further interaction between FAO and ILO staff, workers’ and producers’ representatives, governments, researchers and other stakeholders.
