Laura Curtze


Laura joined Ergon as a Researcher in 2015. Prior to this, she worked on various aspects of corporate responsibility with GIZ, the German agency for international cooperation, and the German Network of the Global Compact. She has volunteered with Human Rights Watch's advocacy department and supported their activities in the context of the UN Human Rights Council.

Laura has a special interest in human and labour rights issues in the extractive sector and has done extensive research on responsible business conduct in gold and gemstone supply chains. Besides this, her main interests and areas of expertise include:

- multi-stakeholder initiatives in the field of business and human rights

- the national implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights

- human rights abuses and social impacts along global supply chains

- political participation and grassroot political movements
Laura holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Munich and a M.A. in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute for International and Development Studies in Geneva.
