Jean-Baptiste joined Ergon in 2007. He is a lawyer specialising in Labour Law and international labour standards, and also has a strong expertise in the field of ethical trade.
He has a keen interest in how companies work with stakeholders on ways to improve working conditions throughout their supply chains.
His range of experience includes helping multi-stakeholder initiatives and their members to develop and implement ethical supply chain management systems, measuring progress, improving monitoring mechanisms and making reporting more useful. In addition to global supply chains, Jean-Baptiste works on labour issues in the context of project finance, development aid and international trade. Jean-Baptiste has worked on projects in various countries including projects with in-country research in Morocco, Mali, Benin, Togo, India and Cambodia.
Prior to Ergon, Jean-Baptiste lived in Senegal where he worked for the International Labour Office on its West Africa child labour programme. Jean-Baptiste has also worked for a Paris-based Law firm where he was in charge of seeking financial compensation for victims of occupational injury and illness.
Jean-Baptiste has two Masters degrees in Law and, while at Ergon, has completed a third Master’s degree in CSR Management.
In his spare time, Jean-Baptiste likes driving an old yellow motorbike.
